From Rapid City take Hwy 16 south. Go past Rockerville. Turn right on Silver Mt. Rd, then turn onto Boulder Hill Rd, gravel for 2.2 miles to Boulder Hill Trailhead. Boulder Hill Rd can also be accessed from Sheridan Lake Rd, gravel for 2.1 miles. Look for yellow volksmarch signs.

Hike the historic 1880 Flume Trail. When placer gold was discovered near Rockerville, the flume was constructed to carry water from Spring Creek to use in the gold processing. 17.5 miles of flume was built.
