Description:
|
Walk daily, dawn to dusk. Revised for 2019, the route begins at the hospital. A scenic flat route on boardwalks, paved paths and streets along Astoria River walk to Alderbrook and back. Riverwalk is itself a city park and route passes through LaPlante Park in Alderbrook. Frite and Scoop (ice cream parlor) near 14th Street/Riverwalk intersection. Route crosses boardwalks and passes a couple of museums. Boardwalks are slippery when wet and some portions present tripping hazards. Use caution. Water towers mentioned in Step 10 are visible during the late fall, winter, and early spring when foliage is not present.

2111 Exchange Street, Astoria OR 97103. US30 to Astoria. From the east, turn left onto Exchange (opposite to the Shell Station) to Hospital parking at 20th & Exchange. From the west, turn right onto 20th Street to Hospital parking. Enter the West Lobby through the revolving door and go left to find the wooden file cabinet next to the wheelchairs behind a potted plant. If West Lobby entrance is closed, use Emergency entrance to gain access.
