Description: Centerville, population about 900, is near the geographic center of Leon County and half way between Dallas and Houston. The county is known as the "Deerest Place in Texas." You'll see colorful deer statuary around town. Legendary bluesman Lightnin' Hopkins was born in Centerville in 1912. Fort Boggy State Park is 5 miles south of town.
