Description: The walks are on a multi-use gravel trail that passes the former home of Roswell Garst, creator of hybrid seed corn. The farm was visited by Nikita Krushchev in 1959. The trail continues past ponds and the Middle Raccoon River.

Location: Bur Oak Visitor Center, 1436 Hwy 141
Start Point / Driving Directions: 1436 Hwy 141. From I-35/I-80 take exit 127 (Hwy 141) for approximately 60 miles. Visitor Center is on the left just before entering Coon Rapids. Walk box is attached to a kiosk in the lower parking lot.

Comments: You may be able to visit the Garst farmhouse, days and times vary. Due to Covid restrictions, the restroom onsite is not available.
