Event information
Open 24/7. After registering you will drive 2 miles to Presque Isle State Park to the start. Directions will be in the walk box. Most of the trail is on paved surfaces with some grass. 10/12K has option to walk on rougher surfaces. Erie does get a lot of snow, so natural trails may be messy in early May. There is plenty of free parking and many restrooms along the trail. Be careful of bikers - most trails are multi-use. Use insect repellent - state parks have ticks and this one also has sand flies because there are beaches. Walk dawn to dusk. Qualifies for PA County Challenge - Erie County. If you have a PA State Park and Forest Passport Book, the stamp is at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center Info Desk. The center is worth visiting. There is an amusement park and water park close to the event and many breweries and wineries in the area.

Driving to the start box
3202 W 26th St. (Route 20), Erie PA 16506 (814) 833-7751. From I-79 in PA, take Exit 182 (Erie Route 20 W) Merge onto Route 20 W/W 26th St. Start Point will be on your right in about a mile. If you have gone past Hoss's, you have gone too far. From I-90, take exit for I-79 N then follow above directions. Ask for walk box at registration desk. No restroom. Start point is great place to stay. Lite continental breakfast.
