Event comments

Trail is not suitable for wheelchairs and is difficult for strollers. The trail is on the grounds of the Mariners' Museum (one of the finest maritime history museums in the world) and home of the Monitor Center. For those walking the Virginia Cities program Newport News is an independent city.

Event information

M-Sat 9am-5pm, Sun 11am-5pm. During winter may close Mondays. Closed Thanksgiving, December 24th and December 25th (Christmas). The trail is on the grounds of the Mariners' Museum (one of the finest maritime history museums in the world) and home of the Monitor Center. The walk includes the Noland Trail. The trail will be primarily through the woods around Lake Maury.

Driving to the start box

Visitors Desk, 757-596-2222. 100 Museum Dr., 23606. I- 64 (E or W), Exit 258A, J Clyde Morris Blvd, US Rt 17 S. Drive about 2.5 miles to end of J Clyde Morris Blvd at Warwick Blvd. Across Warwick Blvd to Avenue of the Arts. Go 0.1 miles, left at blue Mariners' Museum sign. Straight to enter Mariners' Museum grounds. Parking lot near museum.
