Event information

Daily 9am-5pm. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. There is a fee to enter Yorktown. Check http://www.nps.gov/index.htm for fees and special events. Trail will be along the shoulder of roads through the battlefield area and through the Historic town of Yorktown. Parts of the walk trails are on dirt pathways.

how to get to the event

Driving to the start box

1000 Colonial Pkwy Yorktown 23690. From Norfolk, Hampton, Newport News: I-64 W, Exit 258B, US 17 N, follow 17 N about 8.1 miles to stoplight at Cook Road. Right at stoplight on Cook Road(VA 704). Follow Cook Road to stop sign (about 2 miles). Left on VA 238. About 0.1 mile, hard right. Proceed to VC, park at parking lot. Richmond/Points N: I-64 E, Exit 242B Rt 199 E. Travel E on Rt 199 about 2 miles. Road narrows from 4 to 2 lanes. High security fence on both sides of road and water tower on left side. Pass water tower, turn right up ramp to Colonial Pkwy to stop sign (about 8.6 miles). At stop sign proceed straight across, park at parking lot at Visitor Center.
