Event comments
This walk includes an optional 2 km route for those that want to visit the old fort and town site. The Mayflower Special Program is available only on the 2 KM extension. Parts of the walk trails are on dirt pathways and may be difficult for wheelchairs. Strollers may be used. Check the nps.gov website for any special events. Qualifies for Virginia Counties program--Jamestowne is in James City County. Several fee free days are offered by the National Park Service. Check the nps.gov website for dates.

Event information
Daily 8:30am-4:30pm. Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas and New Years. The 5, 10, and 12 km walks are on National Park lands and may be walked with your National Park or Golden Age Pass without paying an additional fee. A combined pass may be purchased for Yorktown and Jamestowne. Fees good for 7 days after purchase. The 2 km extension goes through the old fort, church, and town area, which are Preservation Virginia property and require an admittance fee. A number of different fee options are available. Check website for entrance options and costs, http://www.nps.gov/jame/planyourvisit/feesandreservations.htm. The walk trail is along the shoulders of roads in the park area and along dirt paths through the area where the town of Jamestowne was located.

Driving to the start box
Colonial Natl Historical Park 1355 Colonial Parkway, Williamsburg VA. I-64 to Williamsburg to Exit 242A, Rt 199 W. Drive 3.4 miles to 2nd stoplight, right to S Henry Street (Rt 132). Immediately right to ramp for Colonial Pkwy, right at bottom of ramp to Colonial Pkwy to Jamestown, approx 8 miles to Glasshouse for Jamestown portion of Colonial Natl Historical Park. Right, parking lot adjacent to Glasshouse. Walk box at main desk in Glasshouse.
