This part of the Heritage Rail Trail is the next to last phase of the trail. It connects John Rudy Park in East Manchester Twp. to Loucks Mill Rd. parking lot off of Rt. 30. The last phase will then connect the. trail from the Loucks Mill parking lot to the original Rail Trail terminus at Pershing and Philadelphia Streets in downtown York City. This phase may be finished in the next two years allowing you to walk the entire length of the Rail Trail to the Mason Dixon Line at the Maryland border. Restrooms are at the start point. Portable facilities are available at the ball fields.

Event information

Start times are 8:00 am to dusk, walking only in daylight hours. Start box will be under bench outside the entrance to the Administrative Headquarters and will be accessible at all times. After you register, you will drive a very short distance to the entrance of John Rudy County Park. Directions will be in the box. This part of the Heritage Rail Trail starts in John Rudy County Park and follows the Codorus Creek to a Parking lot off Rt 30. The next phase will connect it to the city of York.

Driving to the start box

400 Mundis Race Road, York, PA 17406. Take PA I-83 to Exit 24, Emigsville. Travel east on Church Rd (Rt. 238) approx .7 mi to junction with Rt. 181. Turn rt on Rt. 181 and go .4 mi to light at Emig Rd. Turn left onto Emig Rd and go .5 mi before turning left on Mundis Race Rd. Travel approx. 1 mi to Park Headquarters, which is a brownstone farm house on left before the second park sign to John Rudy County Park.
