This walk is in memory of John McCoy, a long-time, active member of YWRW, who originally laid out the trail in 2006. Pets are allowed on the trail but not in the start point

Event information
The town is named for Matthew Dill, an immigrant from County Monaghan, Ireland, who settled the town in 1740. The village became a center for local agriculture. During the Civil War's Gettysburg Campaign, Dillsburg was twice invaded by Confederate cavalry, first by Albert G. Jenkins's brigade, then by Maj. Gen. J.E.B. Stuart's division. Dill's Tavern, founded in the 1750s with a current building constructed between 1794 and 1819, and the Rev. Anderson B. Quay House are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Driving to the start box
Start Point is Square Bean Coffee, 1 S. Baltimore St., Dillsburg, PA 17019 From York, PA- take Rt. 74 through Dover to Rossville (5 mi.) Go straight at the signal light in Rossville onto Old York Rd (7mi.) Shortly after entering Dillsburg turn left at the Dillsburg Brethren in Christ Church, which is E. Harrisburg St. This street will take you to Baltimore St.The Square Bean Coffee sits on the corner of Harrisburg and Baltimore St. The parking lot is on the left of Harrisburg St. before you get to the corner. From the North and South - Take Rt. 15 to Dillsburg. At the signal light for Rt. 15 and Rt. 74, turn left unto Baltimore St. if coming from the north and turn right if coming from the south. Continue on Baltimore St until you come to signal light at Harrisburg St. Turn left onto Harrisburg St. Square Bean Coffee is on the corner and parking lot is right behind it on Harrisburg St.
