Event information

Email registration possible--contact POC or club president to receive directions, then register and stamp once VC opens. Daily 9am-5pm. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. There is a fee to enter Yorktown. Check http://www.nps.gov/index.htm for fees and special events. The trail will be along the shoulder of roads through the battlefield area. The trail will follow the loop road starting at Surrender Field. The trail will go by the French Cemetery and to George Washington's Headquarters.

how to get to the event

Driving to the start box

1000 Colonial Pkwy, Yorktown 23690. From Norfolk, Hampton, Newport News: I-64 W, Exit 258B, US 17 N. Follow 17 N about 8.1 miles to stoplight at Cook Road. Right at stoplight to Cook Road (VA 704). Follow Cook Road to stop sign (about 2 miles). Left to VA 238. Proceed about 0.1 mile, turn hard right. Proceed to VC, park in parking lot. Richmond/Points N: I-64 E, Exit 242B Rt 199 E. Travel E on Rt 199 about 2 miles. Road narrows from 4 to 2 lanes. High security fence on both sides of road, water tower on left side. Pass water tower, turn right up ramp to Colonial Pkwy to stop sign (about 8.6 miles). At stop sign proceed straight across, park at VC parking lot. After registering, drive 1.0 miles to start walk. Qualifies for Virginia Cty Program walk in York Cty.
