Event comments

Virginia Museum of History and Culture is closed and will remain closed to guests through early April 2021. Email the POC, Mary Ann Gries, for instructions for the walk and a start card. When walk is completed, participant shall return the start card with payment. POC will then email them an insert card. We apologize for any inconvenience. This walk counts for the city of Richmond, Virginia. Closed Federal Holidays, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Day and New Year's Eve and Day. Steps make these walks impossible for wheelchairs and difficult for strollers.

Event information

Mostly on paved paths throughout Maymont, a 100-acre Victorian estate that contains a historic museum, gardens, wildlife exhibit & a petting zoo. The 10km also uses residential streets & passes the Carillon (bell tower), which is a 1918 War Memorial. Two mile drive from registration to 5km start. No animals/pets permitted in Maymont Park - no exceptions.

Driving to the start box

428 N Arthur Ashe Boulevard. 804-358-4901. Closed Federal Holidays. From I-95, exit 78. Follow signs to Virginia Historical Society, corner of N Arthur Ashe Boulevard/Kensington Avenue. Parking available rear of building. Driving directions to 5km start point are included with walk instructions.
