Event comments
Brookside Gardens include various botanical gardens with Japanese tea house and ponds and the Conservatories with changing colorful displays. NO PETS ARE ALLOWED IN BROOKSIDE GARDENS. Fee for IVV credit and non-IVV participation is $3.00. Children 12 and under walk for free (IVV Credit included) courtesy of the Freestate Happy Wanderers. No admission fee for the gardens. Wheaton Regional Park is a wooded park. Water and restrooms are available in the Visitors Center. Water and restrooms are also available in the Conservatories at Brookside Gardens.

Event information
The Visitor Center is OPEN LIMITED HOURS FROM 10 am to 2 pm DUE TO COVID-19. Closed on holidays from Veterans Day through Presidents Day. Call the Visitor Center to confirm holiday hours (phone 301-962-1400, website http://www.montgomeryparks.org/brookside/ ). PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED in Brookside Gardens. The trail is primarily on natural surfaces, with some rocky stretches, and some paved paths. The trail has a number of hills and is not suitable for strollers. In wet weather, the trails may be muddy. The 5km trail is a shortened version of the 10km loop. A second different 10km loop can be walked for 20km.
