Update as of December 14: The Gettysburg YWCA hosts the start box for the three Volkswalks, a Volksswim, and a Volksbike sponsored by the York White Rose Wanderers. The gym and swimming pool at the YWCA are closed until January 4. The YWCA is still open for childcare so you can access the start box when Child Care is open. This is from 6:30 am - 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. They will probably close early on Dec 24 and 31. Since the swimming pool is closed, the Volksswim is not available. **********************************Mon-Fri, 4:30 am-10pm; Sat, 8-5; Sun, 10-5. Closed all holidays. Tour Operators please make arrangements with the POC. Pets cannot enter the National Cemetery on the 15K walk. ***** After registering for the 5K & 10K, you must drive about three miles to the start at the Longstreet Monument/Amphitheater. The 15K starts from the YWCA.***** The 5K Confederate Artillery Trail is and out and back on West Confederate Ave and focuses on the Confederate artillery units that supported Pickett's Charge on July 3, 1863. The 5K Horse Trail loops utilizes a portion of the horse trail and roads in the area of the Amphitheater and the Peach Orchard. The 15K trail starts from the YWCA and goes on the Confederate line on Seminary Ridge, past the Peach Orchard and Wheatfield, on the Union line on Cemetery ridge, through the National Cemetery, site of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, and the South and West areas of Gettysburg. ***** The trails are on paved park roads, park trails, road shoulders, and city sidewalks. The 5K Horse Trail is dirt and gravel and is not suitable for wheel chairs and strollers will have some difficulty.
