Event information

The trail is mostly on paved surfaces except in the Park. RESTROOMS/WATER are available at Start Point and in Georgetown as noted in the walking instructions. PETS on leash are allowed on this trail. The trail goes to historic Georgetown through some of the finest neighborhoods in the Washington DC, to Georgetown University and through scenic Rock Creek Park. An additional 1 km option visits the C&O Canal & the Georgetown waterfront at Potomac River.

2616 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008 BY CAR: I-495 (Capital Beltway) to Exit 33 Take MD-185 (Connecticut Ave.) south about 6 miles to Calvert St NW. Right on Calvert St NW. Park on streets weekends only or if necessary in Omni Shoreham Hotel parking lot on Calvert (hourly rates). BY METRO: Red Line to Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan Station. Start Point is adjacent to the Metro escalators. 2 entrances: Connecticut and a rear entrance on 24th St. NW (wheelchair accessible). McDonald's hours, Daily 5:30 am to 11 pm; closed 3pm on Thanksgiving & Christmas. START BOX: From Conn. Ave entrance, go down stairs to McDonalds. Look LEFT. The Start Box usually kept on floor by Trash containers.
