Description: Walk through newly developed; full growth forest trails with a mix of full and filtered sun and shade. Cross a meadow on a boardwalk and hopefully see wildflowers in bloom. You may even see some of spring's leftover Camas Lilies. Further along the trail, watch for clumps of bright red "snow flowers" which are abundant in the area. Circle around through the forest on these well maintained, mostly level, State Park trails, leading back to the start site and completion for 5k walkers. Those going on for 11k distance credit, will walk down to the Lake and continue along the West Shore of Tahoe on the paved walk/bike trail. This segment will be more in full sun with scattered areas of shade and breathtaking views of the Lake and mountains. You will come upon occasional picnic tables on this stretch. Then return back to Tahoe Lake at Rideout.
