Description: This walk has a remote start. Ocean Beach is a funky old fashioned beach town with spectacular views of the pounding surf. The walk goes by "Dog Beach". You'll enjoy watching the dogs cavorting in the sand. The 5K will walk on city streets or on the sand to the famous fishing pier. The pier is the longest concrete pier on the West Coast. It is rated 1A and has a single set of steps to the pier. The 10K follows city streets along the cliffs with the roar of the ocean at your side. Remember, what goes up gets to come back down! The rating will be higher if you choose to walk in the sand to the pier.

Start Point / Driving Directions: 2270 N Hotel Circle, San Diego, CA 92108
From I-15 Southbound, travel past Mira Mesa & the Miramar Naval Air Station. Exit right onto CA-163S. After about 8 miles use the right 2 lanes to exit onto Hotel Circle (exit 3B).Turn left (West) on Hotel Circle for about 1 mile to the Crowne Plaza. From I-5 Southbound, travel past Carmel Mt & CA-56. Follow signs to I-805S staying left at the fork. After about 8 miles use the right 2 lanes to take exit 20 to merge onto CA-163S toward Downtown. After about 3 miles, exit right onto Hotel Circle (exit 3B). Stay left turning West on Hotel Circle N to the Crowne Plaza (about 1 mi).
