From N or S on NYS Thruway: Exit 23 onto I787N to end. ** Continue straight over RR tracks. Pass St. Peter?s Health Partners then turn L at next traffic light (Mohawk St.) then R onto Cayuga St. to parking areas on the L. From N or S I-87: Take
Exit 7E (Alternate Rt. 7) toward Troy to ramp to I-787N to end. Follow from ** above. From I-90 E or W: Exit at I-787 N to end.
Then follow from ** above. From Convention Center: N on Wolf Rd. to end. Enter ramp onto I-87 N to Exit 7E (Alternate Rt. 7) toward
Troy. Stay R to follow signs for I-787N. Go to end of I-787N. Then follow ** above.

Comments: There are 2 different options for this walk!! One for drivers (CARS) - 7k & 11k AND one for those riding Convention BUSES - 8k & 10k. Starting Point for bus riders: St. Peter's Health Partners parking lot on the corner of N Mohawk St. and Mohawk St. Entrance to parking lot on Mohawk Street ONLY - opposite Cohoes Senior Center. All cars/drivers will got the Cohoes Senior Center at 10 Cayuga Plaza. Along the walk you will see: The Falls, Brookfield Hydro Electric Power Plant with its turbine "sculpture," site of Clinton's Ditch, Veterans Memorial Park, site where the Cohoes Mastodon was discovered, Harmony Mills Textile Mill and workers' living quarters - now apartmentrs. You will walk over bridges and along the Old Champlain Trail Canalway to Lock 2 of the Erie Canal and the Waterford Harbor. Some of you will walk around Peebles Island State Park where you will have water views as well. You will walk to the point of confluence of the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers. Peebles Island State Park is where Revolutionary War battles were fought and where there are remnants of Revolutionary War earthworks. Read placards on the island describing the roles of Generals John Burgoyne and Thaddeus Kosciusko. Visit the Pavilion where there willbe snacks and where there is a lookout point for eagles overlooking the Hudson River. After visiting the Visitors' Center, walk across the green bridge for bus pickup opposite the Matton Canal Boat Yard. LAST BUS PICKUP will be at 3 PM for last return trip to Hotel. All DRIVERS will be encouraged to drive to Cohoes Falls View Park on N. Mohawk St. to see it from another viewing point and to enjoy an ice cream and/or sandwich at LePage's Sandwich Shop from their balcony. Ask for special VW discount.
