Event information
Enjoy a walk around 2 of the lakes at Waconda State Park formed from the remains of gravel mining in the area. The trails are mostly on grass paths and very flat. This is a good area for waterfowl bird watching in the spring and fall. Use sunscreen and carry water. There is very little shade on this walk. No water or restrooms along the trail. Please walk in daylight only. You will drive from Edina about 45 minutes to the start point in the park .

Driving to the start box
Lucky's Cafe, 116 N 4th St, Edina, MO. From US 36 go north on US 63. When Bus 63 branches off to Kirksville bear right on US 63 to the intersection of MO 6. Turn right on MO 6. Stay on MO 6 for 21 miles then turn left on MO 6 E/MO 15 N. Go 1 mile and turn right on Lafayette and then left on N 4th St to the cafe. Lucky's Cafe is open Sun - Mon 6 am -2 pm and Tues - Sat 6 am - 8 pm. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
