Event comments

This box also is the Start Point for the Blackwater Heritage State Trail (BHST). Be careful and register properly. Walk both while you are here. Enjoy. Walk starts/stops at Blackwater River, and goes up and down the streets of Bagdad. Bagdad is an old lumber town with most houses dating from the 1800's to the late 1950's. Walk will pass many of the old homes, churches, the museum which was also an old church, and around the cemetery. There are no stores or restaurants in this quaint old town and only a port-a-potty at the start/finish.

Start/finish 2.1 miles from registration. Driving directions to start/finish are at top of walk directions. Carry water. Stock up on supplies while you register. Store is CLOSED on Christmas Day.

Driving to the start box

5221 Stewart, Milton, FL. I-10 exit 26, Milton/Bagdad. Travel N (through Bagdad), reach US-90 at light. Turn left (W). Next light, Burger King on corner, Right (N )on Stewart. 2nd block, left to Pic-N-Sav store. Sets back on large parking area. Ask clerk for walk box. Store OPENS 8am. Walk daylight hours only.
