The annual Pufferbilly Days Railroad celebration is held the first weekend after Labor Day. The Iowa Municipal Band Festival is held the second Saturday of July at the Herman Park Pavilion.

Daily, dawn to dusk. Walk on city sidewalks along the historic Lincoln Highway and pass the birthplace of Mamie Doud Eisenhower. Her home and museum are available for tours. Visit he Historic Depot and Boone and Scenic Valley Railway Museum. Train rides are available. Trail goes through McHose Park.

1704 S Story St. 12 miles W of Ames on US Hwy 30. From Hwy 30 turn N to Boone at 4-way stop (Story St). Circle K is on right about 1 block.
