Event comments
Leaving the Nordland General Store continue north on SR 116. Where the sign says "SR 116 ENDS," continue straight into Park and follow signs to boat launch area and park your car. Pets are not allowed in buildings.

This walk explores the fascinating history and natural beauty of Marrowstone Island and Fort Flagler. See the beautiful views, waterfront camp ground and many batteries to explore. Nordland Store open: Mon-Fri: 7 am - 7 pm; Sat: 8 am - 7 pm; Sun: 9 am - 6 pm. Closed Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Driving to the start box
7180 Flagler Road. NOTE: YOU MUST DRIVE FROM THE STORE TO FORT FLAGLER TO BEGIN WALKING. A Washington State (Parks) Discover Pass is required for parking. (Automated machine to buy daily or annual Discovery pass located at Park). Either heading north from Tacoma or from Seattle on the Bainbridge Ferry get on SR 3 and cross the Hood Canal Bridge. Continue on SR 104, watch for the sign to Chimacum, and turn RIGHT. At the next 4-way stop turn RIGHT towards Port Hadlock. Proceed about 1 mile and turn RIGHT onto SR 116. Continue on SR 116, crossing the bridge and passing by Naval Magazine Indian Island to Marrowstone Island. After about five miles, look for the Nordland General Store on the right, across from the Marina. From the west on US 101 at Discovery Bay, turn LEFT at the Port Townsend exit onto SR 20. Continue a little over 3 miles to the Lake Anderson Road and turn RIGHT. Take Lake Anderson Road to SR 19 and turn LEFT. In a short distance turn RIGHT onto SR 116 and proceed as above.
