Event comments
Walk Daily, dawn to dusk. The trail is mostly paved with some dirt and gravel and there are a few short hills, and some sidewalk stairs in town. The walk takes you through old gold rush-era town with many antique stores, restaurants, old and new homes, cemetery and historical sites. If you are an antique collector, or enjoy viewing "old time" architecture, this is the walk for you; good food available, too. This walk is particularly interesting during Christmas season.

Event information
At Amador Inn, look to left of registration desk for binder on shelf above computer. After signing registration sheet, fill out a start card registration envelope, include payment, put start card envelope in pre-addressed, stamped envelope. Give to desk clerk to put in outgoing mail. DRIVE TO WALK START POINT IN SUTTER CREEK to parking lot behind City Hall, (Approx., 4 miles): Exit Best Western Amador Inn to Hwy 49 NORTH. Right on Hwy 49 North passing through Martel business area. Continue on Hwy 49 North. You will pass Ridge Rd. and continue to next road on the right, Old Hwy 49. Turn right on Old Hwy 49 and wind down into Sutter Creek. Now on Main St. City Hall is on the right. Cross the bridge over Sutter Creek to Eureka St. Turn right on Eureka to a parking lot on the right. Restrooms are across the bridge on the other part of the parking lot.

Driving to the start box
200 S State Hwy 49, Jackson, CA, 95642. SE corner of Hwy 49 and HWY 88. Directions to Best Western Amador Inn: From Hwy 99 in Stockton, Take Exit #255, Hwy. 88, Waterloo Rd. EAST. Follow Hwy 88 EAST through Lockeford and Clements and Hwy. 88 turns left. Continue on Hwy 88 East approx. 20 miles to Jackson. At Hwy 49, turn right for about one mile. When Hwy 88 turns left, stay straight and keep in left lane and continue on Hwy 49 South about 500 ft. Enter drive way on left into parking lot between Amador Inn and Denny's restaurant..
