Event information

YMCA is CLOSED on major holidays. Walk on sidewalks and paved paths through residential neighborhood and up to or cross the famous Tacoma Narrows Bridge. The original bridge was built in 1940 and collapsed in a wind storm that same year. It was rebuilt in 1950 and second bridge opened in 2005. The 10km walk goes to the center of the bridge and returns. The optional 12km walk completely crosses the bridge and returns. The 6 km walk goes past the bridge but not on it. All continue through War Memorial Park. There is no toll for walkers.

Driving to the start box

1002 S Pearl St. -- I-5 Exit 132(SR16 Bremerton) West Bound on SR16 take Exit #3 (Sixth Ave). Left at end of ramp on 6th Ave. Left at next light onto Pearl St. Right 1/2 block into YMCA parking lot. East Bound: SR16 Exit at #3 (Pearl St/Ruston). Left onto Pearl and Right 1/2 block into YMCA parking lot. Enter YMCA and turn left into lobby. Walk info in cabinet beside workout bikes. (Ask for help at front desk if necessary).
