You will be walking through the historic district of Sykesville where Confederate General J.E.B. Stuart burned the bridge over the Patapsco River prior to the Battle at Gettysburg. Sykesville is in Carroll County. Fee for IVV credit or non-IVV is $3.00. Children 12 and under walk for free (IVV credit included) courtesy of Freestate Happy Wanderers.

Driving to the start box
7514 Norwood Avenue, Sykesville, MD 21784. From Baltimore Beltway (I-695), Exit 16 to I-70 W. Take exit 80, MD 32 N, to Sykesville, keeping right off ramp (N), 3.5 miles. Go left at sign, Sykesville Main Street, 1/2 mile, and take 3rd street on left, Church Street. Inn at Norwood is house ahead up hill. Park on left, St Paul's parking (ONLY WHILE REGISTERING), and go to front porch where Start Box located under bench. There is a drive of a few blocks to the start of the walk.
