Event information

In 1891 a post office was erected just north of the town of Kansas City and the area was called North Kansas City. IN 1912, the city was incorporated after levees protecting the small township were made that prevented the constant flooding from the Missouri River. One of the founders of the town was William E. Macken. He became the first mayor of NKC in 1924 and a beautiful park, which you will walk through, was named for him. As you walk through the small down you will pass by the Armour Theater Building and the old Sears, Roebuck and Company Warehouse Building. Both of these buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, NKC has become a hub for young, urban residents with the building of new loft style homes, two new micro-breweries, and a fun new recreational activity called Pickleball. Hours of Operation: 24 hours - but please walk in daylight hours only.

1211 Armour Rd, North Kansas City, MO 64116 The American Inn hotel is located just off Armour Rd/Hiway 210. Take the Armour Rd/210 exit just off I29 and head west. The hotel is located on the south side of Armour Rd about 100' from I-29 There are plenty of places to park and restrooms are located at the front entrance.
