This is a very popular area of KC. Lots of festivals so please check the below website to make sure no special events will cause route to be closed. Event information
Kansas City may be small but you would never know it based on all the wonderful things to see and do. Today's walk will take you past several monuments honoring veterans, firefighters, trail blazers and many others. The walk is on city streets and sidewalks. The 11k has several flights of stairs and small hills, making it very difficult for strollers and impossible for wheelchairs. 5k is moderate for strollers and wheelchairs. This walk qualifies for Jackson County in the MO Counties Special Program book.

Driving to the start box
1051 Washington, Kansas City, MO 64105. From I-35 to Broadway exit. Take Broadway to 11th Street. Turn west on 11th Street. Turn right on Washington Street. Parking is available on the street or at the parking lot at 9th and Washington. Note: There will be an approximate 2 mile drive from the registration of the walk to the start point. The actual start of the walk is right inside Union Station on Pershing Street. Parking is available in Crown Center (3hrs free on weekdays and free all weekend). It is a short walk through the "Link" between Crown Center and Union Station. There is also a parking garage at Union Station - but rates can be rather high. There is some street parking near Union Station as well.
