Event comments

A side trail, the Townsend River Walk, is unpaved and not suitable for strollers, wheelchairs, etc. Walkers can continue along the paved trail if unable to transit the River Walk. Tunnels under Highway 321 allow walkers to avoid traffic going from one side of the highway to the other. Entry into The Little River Railroad and Lumber Company Museum is free. Check for local events and festivals. In the summer and fall there are often concerts at the Heritage Center ($8). Saturday night from May to October there are performances on the "Pickin' Porch" at Wood N' Strings Dulcimer Shop. Come back at 7 p.m. with a lawn chair to enjoy the music.
