Event information

The 5k and 10k walks are on city streets and paved bike trails in Edwardsville, IL, recently designated as best city in the state for young families. Edwardsville was first settled in 1805. When Illinois became a territory in 1809, the city's namesake, Ninian Edwards became the first territory governor. Five residents of Edwardsville have since been governor of Illinois. The walks will take you through downtown, past the first brick house in Edwardsville, built in 1820 by Benjamin Stephenson and on the National Historic Register (10k), through the St. Louis Street Historic District and on bike/walking trails. There are restrooms at the start/finish and plenty of places to eat downtown. Come enjoy our beautiful, vibrant city!
