Event comments
We suggest you walk with a group during evening hours for Holiday Lights in December but trail can be walked alone during the day. When walking in the evening hours, be sure to wear reflective clothing & bring a flashlight. Pets are not allowed in the shops or in the Temples Visitors Center.

Event information
Walk Dawn-Dusk. Store Hours: Daily M-Sun 5am-Midnight. Walk box at Customer Service Desk. Limited parking in Safeway garage, additional parking at Town Hall & along streets. Restrooms are available in Safeway & the Mormon Temple Visitors Center. The trails are two 10k loops & two 5k loops that take walkers through Historic Kensington, Howard Ave Antique Row & up to the Mormon Temple Visitors Center to view annual Holiday light decorations & displays in December. The trails also include a walk through Garrett Park & along Rock Creek Park's hiker/biker trail to enjoy the fall foliage as well. Trails are on sidewalks, paved roadway shoulders & asphalt hiker/biker trail.

Driving to the start box
10541 Connecticut Ave, 20895; 301-945-4273. Washington Capital Beltway (I-495) Exit 33 (MD-185N), Conn to Kensington. About 1.8 miles on Conn, turn RIGHT to Knowles at traffic signal. Stop sign at Knowles & Armory, Turn LEFT to Armory & make immediate LEFT to Safeway garage (limited parking available). OR turn RIGHT to Armory; go 1 block to Mitchell. Turn LEFT to Mitchell, Turn RIGHT to Public Parking area at Kensington Town Hall. Street parking in residential area & Antique Row available.
