McDonald's hours, Daily 5:30am-11pm; closed 3pm on Thanksgiving & Christmas. RESTROOMS/WATER are available at the Start Point & the Cathedral. PETS are NOT allowed in the Start Point or on the Cathedral grounds. Cathedral Hours: 10 AM to 4:30 PM.The trail is on sidewalks & paved surfaces.

Driving to the start box
2616 Connecticut Ave NW, 202-462-8773. Start Point adjacent to Metro escalators; 2 entrances: Connecticut and rear entrance on 24th (wheelchair accessible at rear entrance). BY METRO: Red Line to Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan Station. BY CAR: I-495 (Capital Beltway) to Exit 33, Connecticut S, about 6 miles to Calvert. Right on Calvert. Park on streets weekends only or Omni Shoreham Hotel parking at Calvert (hourly rates). START BOX: From Conn. Ave entrance, go down stairs to McDonalds. Look LEFT; Start Box usually kept on floor by Trash containers.
