Event comments
The walk box will be located in the covered garage area. Walk box will be marked with yellow signage. Restrooms are only available at businesses along the course. The Hershbergers who were the former owners of the Cottage Hose are not volkssporters. They want to continue to support the concept in their community. 785-466-1350 for directional assistance only. Council Grove is the county seat of Morris County. Some of the trail may need to be modified near the river due to the rainfall and area flooding. Please make good choices and walk safe.

Event information
Daily, dawn to dusk. Trail is rated 1+ but various surfaces will make it difficult for strollers or wheelchairs. Pets should not be taken if you are planning on visiting any museums and/or businesses. This course will lead through shaded, residential areas of Council Grove as well as the business district. Numerous historical sites will be located on the route highlighting the Santa Fe Trail. It is mostly city sidewalks or paved roads on fairly flat terrain.

Driving to the start box
214 East Market Street - From US 56, go to the stoplighted intersection with Ks-177. Turn north on Ks 177 (Union Street), go 1 block & turn right on East Market & drive to the address. Hershberger residence will be on the north side of the street.
