Description: Register between 9 to 12:00 Noon; Finish by 3:00 pm. Come and experience Sacramento's gem of a river starting at Hagan Park in Rancho Cordova and going all the way to the William B. Pond Recreation Area in Carmichael. This walk follows the jedediah Smith Memorial Trail (American River Bikeway) alongside the American River. You'll cross the Harold Richey Memorial Bridge to the opposite side of the river and travel through nature areas and shady parks. Come back and explore Hagan Park where there are picnic tables, activities, play facilities for children and a dog park. Visit the adjacent Soil Born Farms to see one of our urban all-natural farms. Celebrate Mother's Day one day early in the great outdoors!

US-50 Eastbound: Exit toward Mather Field/Rancho Cordova. Left onto Coloma Rd. Left onto Chase Dr.
US-50 Westbound: Take the Zinfandel Dr exit toward Rancho Cordova. Turn right onto Zinfandel Dr. Turn left onto Folsom Blvd. Turn right onto Coloma Rd. Left onto Chase Dr.
Awards & Fees: IVV Credit Only
Comments: Park fee of $4.00 for one-day pass or park in nearby high school lot for free. Both routes rated a 1B; easy with some rocky trails. Strollers and wheelchairs can use the paved bike trail whenever the walkers are following dirt trails. Dogs welcome on leash with cleanup. Restaurants are nearby, 2 miles away. Wear long pants to protect against poison oak along the trails and don't forget a hat, sunscreen and water.
