Event comments

Deer are abundant, particularly in the early morning and evening hours. The new Aransas County History Center is located a block from the trail and is open Friday and Saturday. The Rockport Aquarium, the Bay Education Center with its "Science on a Sphere", Rockport Center for the Arts, and various other sites will also tempt you away from the course as views of Little Bay and Aransas Bay approach as the course turns north on the return to the finish.

Event information

The 11K course provides samples of what Rockport offers residents and visitors. It begins and ends on the "Tule Hike & Bike Trail" within a Texas Coastal Live Oak Forest bordering a coastal wetland called "Tule Lake". Walkers will also enjoy the Rockport Downtown Heritage District, the downtown shopping district, Rockport Harbor, Texas Maritime Museum, Rockport Beach Park and various other historical sites. The 6K course stays primarily within city parks on cement and asphalt surfaces.

how to get to the event

Driving to the start box

2001 Stadium Drive, Rockport, TX 78382. (New Start Point due to Hurricane Harvey). From Corpus Christi cross over the Harbor Bridge onto 181 N. After driving through Portland, continue on HWY 35 E toward Rockport. Continue approximately 12 miles and exit right onto FM 2165 (Pearl St.). At the 1st red light, turn left onto Enterprise Blvd. continue several block to the next light on Enterprise. Turn left onto Stadium Drive and proceed to the Community Pool on the left.
