Event information

Walk paved Chehalis Western Trail (CWT) through farmlands and forests, on rural northern route with additional 2K option into wooded overlook (seasonal closure Apr 1-Aug 15). Additional 5K option of Woodard Bay Natural Resources Area is open year-round. Bark trail with steps and boardwalk through the woods and paved trail to Chapman Bay overlook on return. Wildflowers in season. Also look for great blue herons, eagles, and harbor seals. No dogs allowed on 2K or 5K trail extensions. Southern route also follows CWT through farmlands and edges of neighborhoods to the entrance of St. Peter Hospital and returns to start. The Combo route follows the CWT north to Woodard Bay Trailhead, south to Chambers Lake Trailhead, and returns to the starting point at midpoint. Strollers,wheelchairs and pets welcome on CWT but not on 2K and 5K additional options on the North Route. ESVA: Thurston County, Hospital.

Driving to the start box

3425 Shincke Rd. NE, Olympia, WA. From I-5 Northbound: Take Exit 107. Right on Pacific. Get in left lane and turn left at 2nd light onto Lilly Rd. Drive 2.8 miles. Turn left onto South Bay. South Bay Market is on the right at the corner of South Bay and Shincke. From I-5 Southbound: Take Exit 109. Right on Martin Way for 1.2 miles. Right on Lilly Rd. For 2.5 miles. Turn left onto South Bay. South Bay Market is on right at corner of South Bay and Shincke. Ask at the service counter for location of walk box. Daily, 7 am to 9:30 pm.
