Princeton Tow Path- D&R Canal Walk: Daily - dawn to dusk. Walk begins at the Clarion/Palmer Inn. Tow Path is mainly packed sand/clay. D & R Canal was constructed by Irish immigrants 1830 - 1834 . National Register of Historic Places in 1973.Trail follows along part of the main canal towpath running 29 miles between Trenton and New Brunswick, NJ. Trail in quiet woods - walk out and back along the D&R Canal towpath. traffic free. Great if you want solitude or a chance to get your speed up. After walking the Tow Path head into town see the wonderful sights/sites of the Princeton Historic walk.
