Event information

Daylight Hours. Closed 10 pm Christmas eve and Christmas day. This walk is mostly on the eastern side of Mount Vernon. Walk along a short path that is a favorite place for ducks when there is enough water in the small ponds. Through housing areas with a slow steady climb up the hill and through newer housing developments and city park. The apex of the walk is on a short city trail that leads to a panoramic view of the Skagit Valley, Mount Baker and the start of the route across the North Cascades. The route back is mostly down hill with weather dependent views to the west of Mount Erie and the valley between. Restroom at Start and portapotty at city park.

Driving to the start box

2601 East Division St., Mount Vernon, WA 98273. I-5 Exit 225 From South turn right, from North turn left, on Anderson Road, go straight through round-about, Anderson Road will curve and become Laventure Rd. Right on E Division St. Haggens will be on the left. Start box is a two-drawer wooden file cabinet.
