Location: San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site
Start Point / Driving Directions: 3523 Independence Pkwy, 77571-9773. Historic site located 19 miles E of downtown Houston. Sam Houston Tollway 8 or Loop-610 to TX-225 E. (If approaching Houston from E on I-10, Exit TX-146 S to TX-225 W) Exit Independence Pkwy (TX-134) turn left (N). At Y in road, take right fork to monument. Walk Box in kiosk left of W entrance.

Comments: Many species of waterfowl may be seen from the trail. The trail is mostly along park roads, however some of the walk is over grassy fields and on a boardwalk into the marshes along the Houston Ship Channel. Pets are not allowed in the museum. Bring insect repellent, sunscreen, hat, water, and binoculars.
