Event information

For a lovely walk around a farming and oil community, the Santa Maria City Walk is perfect. The usual elements of a city hall, senior center (Mussell Sr. Center), and local college (Allan Hancock) are joined by an interesting downtown area that honors the original white settlers. The town's name (its 3rd) came from the name Mexican Land Grant recipient, Juan Ontiveros, labeled his property. The area tends to be hot (high 70s in winter to 100s in summer), so carry water and use sunscreen.
