Event information

Daily, dawn to dusk. Start box located in small kiosk on side of Visitor Center. Elevation of 2200 ft. This event goes through the grounds of the Weimar Institute and covers a small percentage of their trails. The walk takes you through dense forest, Manzanita groves, up and down hills. It is mostly wooded dirt trails in rolling Sierra Foothills oak, pine, and manzanita forest; streams with wild grapes and berries in Summer, wildflowers in Spring. NO SMOKING. Good picnic spot at a checkpoint near half way point on the route loops. The 20Km route consists of two separate 10Km loops from the start. You may use either one for 10Km. Occasional snow or ice may temporarily close trails in winter; call ahead. Carry water in summer and fall. There are abundant wild flowers in the Spring. Water available at start and two locations on wooded trail area. Restroom available near the start; ask attendant in Welcome Center. Take your time and take your camera. Weimar Institute cafeteria/restaurant available for lunch/dinner by reservation only. Sun-Thurs call for hours. Institute also has RV park. For reservations call 530-637-4111.

20601 W Paoli Ln, Weimar, CA 95736. Box on outside of Welcome Center. Park in Visitors lot. E on I-80 to W Paoli Ln (Exit 130). Left over freeway then right to campus. W on I-80 to W Paoli Ln. Exit right to campus.
