Description: Daily, dawn to dusk. Strollers and wheelchairs may have difficulty with this course. Trail rated 2B, is on parts of the Lewis & Clark Heritage Trail which includes Kaw Point, and downtown streets of Kansas City, Kansas. Other sites include the Huron Indian Cemetery, the Strawberry Hill district, murals, Grananda Theatre, WPA projects, and an overlook of the Kansas River bottoms where the "Kaw" River joins the Missouri River. Please consider your pet's health with the Kansas heat and humidity. Please take drinking water for you and your pet. Take precautions for the sun and humidity. Road construction might alter the walking course.

Location: Hilton Garden Inn
Start Point / Driving Directions: 520 Minnesota Ave. 66101, 913-342-7900. Coming from the west on I-70, follow I-70 east (do not follow I-670) to the 5th St. exit (#423A) on your left. Turn left (west)on Minnesota Ave., the second stoplight. Hilton Garden Inn is in the middle of the block. Coming from the east, take I-70 (not I-670) west across the Lewis & Clark Viaduct & follow to exit #423C, the Minnesota Avenue exit straight into downtown Kansas City, Kansas. Just past 5th St., the first stoplight, the Hilton Garden Inn will be on your right side. Parking lot across the street from the Hilton is free.

Comments: Restrooms will be available at the Hilton Garden Inn. Flooding conditions could possibly cause part of the course to be closed. Please call POC Carol Carley if in doubt.Trail is rated a 2, some sidewalks/walkways may present difficulty for wheelchairs and strollers. The course is on parts of the Lewis and Clark Heritage Trail and downtown streets of Kansas City, Ks. Sites include Huron Cemetary, Honoring the Flag which will be flying on many public building, several places on the National Register of Historical Places. Kaw Point Park and surrounding area was part of the Works Progress Administration. Kansas City, Kansas is located in Wyandotte County.
