Description: **Trail is now re-opened. Enjoy.** The 6k walk (rating 4C) is a loop along the waterfalls. Shoes with good tread are needed as the trail is usually wet. Cannot be walked in winter. The 7k walk (rating 2B) is a lollipop route that goes to the highest point in the park and goes through three counties (Columbia, Sullivan, and Luzerne). It follows trails through the woods and passes a fire tower. The 13k walk combines the two routes.

Start Point / Driving Directions: REGISTRATION: Please use the online start box provided by the California Volkssport Association website ( Follow the left side link, 'Online Start Box', and the instructions provided to sign a waiver and register for this event. Payments for event credit and directions use Paypal. The directions and insert cards are PDFs that you can download and print as needed. The POC does not provide event directions or accept alternate payment methods. The entire online process should take less than 10 minutes for a first time user.

To get to the Lake Rose Trailhead, take PA-487 to the state park entrance and drive past the state park visitor center. Turn right at the intersection pointing to the Lake Rose Trailhead. The trail starts next to the sign describing the falls.
