Event information
Providing spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the route takes you along San Francisco's unique Land's End trail to the Palace of Legion of Honor, then through the quiet streets of the Richmond District, passing the old Balboa Theater and down to Chain of Lakes in Golden Gate Park. Turning back to the start point, walk along Ocean Beach past the historic Cliff House and the Land's End Visitor's Center overlooking the mysterious ruins of the Sutro Baths. Route ends with a stroll through lovely Sutro Heights Park.

Driving to the start box
545 Point Lobos at 48th Ave., San Francisco. N BAY: US-101 S/GG Bridge, 19th/Park Presidio exit (438). Right on Geary (1.7 mi). Follow Geary for 2 mi, Geary leads into Point Lobos at 40th. Continue to 48th. Seal Rock Inn will be to your left. S BAY: 101N to Daly City 380W to connect with I-280N (Exit 5A), take John Daly Blvd exit (49A) and get into left lanes for John Daly Blvd. Follow to end at Skyline Blvd and turn right. Go through stop light to stop sign at Great Hwy, turn left (Lake Merced to your right). Continue along Great Hwy to S.R.Inn on Point Lobos at 48th, just past the Cliff House. (If the Great Hwy is closed due to sand removal, take lower road) E BAY: Bay Bridge/I-80W merge to US-101 N to Golden Gate Bridge. Exit 434A merge to US-101 N/Octavia, exit and continue to Fell, which leads left. Continue on Fell to Masonic turning right. At Fulton, turn left and continue to the Great Hwy and turn right. Road will lead to Point Lobos, past the Cliff House to 48th Ave. Seal Rock Inn is to your right. Lobby inside garage entrance on Point Lobos. Ask for walk binder at desk.
