Description: Nature, history and charm abound in Sandwich, Cape Cod's oldest town. Route traverses old & new neighborhoods, explores town's center to include Dexter's Grist Mill, Glass Museum, historic churches & quaint shops. Boardwalk over salt marshes leads to spectacular view of Cape Cod Bay. Optional 1km extension on 10km goes to Sandwich Fish Hatchery. *** Due to the severe winter storm in early January that caused erosion of sand dunes and flooding of the salt marsh, access to the boardwalk and Town Neck Beach is closed to the public as of Jan. 10, 2018.
