See monuments to the enormous construction and scientific efforts by 75,000 workers to build the "Secret City" and develop the atomic bomb for the Manhatten Project to end WW II. See one of the famous "flat-top houses" that sprang up overnight. See Friendship Bell symbolizing peace & friendship shared by Japan and Oak Ridge. Walk through neighborhoods and historic Jackson Square. Oak Ridge is part of Manhatten Project National Historical Park. If interested, take a 3-hour bus tour of Project/Park related sites, including the Graphic Reactor at Oak Ridge National Lab (included in museum price). Call museum (865)576-3200 for seasonal tour dates. Museum open M-Sat 9am-5pm, Sun 1-5pm daily, closed Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Day.
