Event comments
Participants are required to wear a bicycle helmet. There are restrooms at Hanover Junction. The York Heritage Rail Trail has a hard packed fine gravel surface. Recommend use of a hybrid bicycle although road and mountain bicycles are often seen on the trail. *****On June 27, 1863, Hanover Junction was defended by the 20th Pennsylvania Volunteer Militia under the command of by Lt. Col. William Sickles.

Event information
The walk box is on the front porch, under a bench, and is accessible at all times. Start time is dawn to dusk. Easy ride on the trail from Hanover Junction area south to the Mason Dixon line and back.

90 Indian Rock Dam Rd., York, PA (717)741-3485. Refer to Heritage Rail Trail Walk #1, Y1771 for directions to the start location. You will register here and drive 10 miles to the start point at Hanover Junction.
