Event information
East Berlin is a charming historical town of about 1500 people. Founded in 1764 and named for Berlin, Germany. Many older homes are restored and very lovely. There are restaurants and fast food areas in town. The famous "Colonial Day" is held second Saturday in September, rain or shine. This is a very big celebration run by the Historical Society that has visitors from many states enjoying the Colonial atmosphere. Be advised that some streets are closed for the event. Parking areas and shuttle bus are in use for the day. Pets are welcome but not in buildings. Please clean up after.

Driving to the start box
405 North Ave, East Berlin, PA 17316. From Harrisburg: Take US15 south to Dillsburg. Turn left on PA 74/N Baltimore St. Go about 3 miles and N Baltimore St becomes PA 194. Proceed to square in East Berlin (Signal light at junction RT 194 & RT 234). Turn right onto West King Street (RT 234). Go 3 blocks to Fourth Street. Turn right and proceed to the Community Center straight ahead. From Gettysburg: Take US 30 East to the square in Abbottstown. Turn left onto RT 194N. * Proceed to the square in East Berlin (signal light at junction RT 194 & RT 234). Turn left onto West King Street (RT 234). Go 3 blocks to Fourth Street. Turn right and proceed to the Community Center straight ahead. From Lancaster: Take US 30 West to the square in Abbottstown. Turn right onto RT 194 N. Follow directions from * above. From Baltimore: Take I83N to RT 30 West. Continue west on RT 30 to square in Abbottstown. Turn right onto RT 194 N. Follow directions from * above. Parking available at start. Walk box inside front doors on table. Hours of Community Center: Mon -Thurs. 8am to 8pm, Friday 8am to 4pm, Saturday 9am to 12noon. Sunday Closed. Closed major holidays.
