Stroll through historic Phoenixville, former home of Phoenix Steel and Griffin, Smith & Hill, makers of Phoenixville's famous Majolica Pottery. The Colonial Theatre, the centerpiece of Phoenixville's renaissance, was featured in "The Blob" (1958) and commemorates the film every summer during Blob Fest http://thecolonialthreatre.com/ Explore Phoenixville's streets and avenues to view its many historic homes, sites of interest, and parks. Cross several of its many bridges, sample some of its trails, and follow the Schuykill Canal tow path. Phoenixville features a farmers' market, many restaurants, wine bars, brew pubs, and a distillery, as well as numerous events and festivals (including Blob Fest, Phoenixville Food Week, the Dogwood Festival (May), the Phoenixville Blues Festival (September), Food Truck Festival and more).

Open 9:00am-6:00pm daily, later some days. The walk is on the sidewalks of Phoenixville as well as short distances on trails and the Schuylkill Canal tow path.

Driving to the start box
234 Bridge St., Phoenixville, PA 19460 (610-935-1965). From west: Take PA-113E to Phoenixville. When 113 turns left on Gay St., continue straight on Bridge St. The cafe will be just ahead on the right. From east: Exit PA Turnpike at Valley Forge (Exit 326). Take US-422W to the Phoenixville/Collegeville exit, then take PA-29S to Phoenixville. When 29 turns left at Starr St., continue straight on Bridge St. The cafe is in the second block on the left. Municipal parking lots are available at Bridge and Main Sts., and on Main St. behind the theater and shops -- $1/hr.
