NOTE SOME LAKE FLOODING STILL POSSIBLE. Walk along the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway into Palm Beach. No restroom at start. Parking is free. The city of Palm Beach, named for The many palm trees scattered across the island, has been an attraction for many of the world's wealthiest and most famous individuals since the early 1900s. Walk route takes you past: the Breakers, an oceanfront 5 star hotel modeled after Romes Villa Medici, that has stunning Italian Renaissance architecture; Flagler Museum the former estate of Standard Oil Company millionaire Henry Flagler, hailed as more magnificent than any other private dwelling in the world; along Worth Avenue -- one of the worlds most exclusive shopping districts, and much more. See why Palm Beach continues to captivate all those who enter this barrier island.

Driving to the start box

REGISTRATION: Please use the online start box provided by the California Volkssport Association website (www.cva4u.org). Follow the left side link, 'Online Start Box', and the instructions provided to sign a waiver and register for this event. Payments for event credit and directions use Paypal. The directions and insert cards are PDFs that you can download and print as needed. The POC does not provide event directions or accept alternate payment methods. The entire online process should take less than 10 minutes for a first time user. DIRECTIONS - Map: http://tinyurl.com/PalmBch-MFM; GPS: 26.716941,-80.042406. Take From I-95S use Exit 70, Okeechobee Blvd, and turn left. Go 3.2 mi crossing bridge onto Royal Palm Way. At the 1st light, turn left on Cocoanut Row for 0.6 mi passing Flagler Museum and the Palm Beach Towers on the left to the office center. Turn left into the retail area and left again parking in the area near Toojays (Royal Poinciana Plaza, 313 Royal Poinciana Way, Palm Beach, Fl). Do not cross Royal Poinciana Ave. You can buy drinks and bakery items at Toojays but they are not a sponsor. There are restrooms at Breakers and Green P.
