Stroll along the "Walkway over Hudson River" (the world's tallest & longest elevated pedestrian bridge: 212 ft over River). 5K and 8k out and back. The 12k trail is a loop through the City of Poughkeepsie that recrosses the Hudson River on Mid-Hudson (FDR) bridge back to St. Pt.; 5k/8k out and backs are rated 1A, 12K loop 2A; Note: Severe weather immediately closes Walkway, even if you are on other side from St. Pt. For the non-12K trails, a wheel chair is doable with assistance on short distance along state highway sidewalk to trailhead. Check Walkway website http://www.walkway.org to ensure Walkway is open prior to your walking due to their holding of events or closures.

3579 US Rt 9W, Highland, NY 12528-1730. Rt 9W on West Side Hudson River across Hudson from Poughkeepsie & US Rt 9. 7AM to dusk. (There is alternative small parking lot at the Walkway Over the Hudson State Park that is more easily accessible for wheel chair and strollers. 2km needs to be deducted from certain distances if using this lot; walking directions will have details).
